Tooth Extractions

When a tooth can’t be fixed, there is overcrowding in preparation for braces, or there is need to remove wisdom teeth,  our gentle dental professionals may suggest extractions.  A simple extraction, where the dentist loosens the tooth, then removes it carefully with forceps typically requires just a local anesthetic (an injection).  If the tooth is impacted, broken at the gum line or has unusually large roots, a surgical extraction may need to be performed.

Dental Sealants

Highly effective in preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your chewing teeth, dental sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic “coating” is painted onto the surface of the tooth. This effectively “seals” the deep grooves, acting as a barrier and protecting enamel from plaque and acids.

Sealants protect the depressions and grooves of your teeth from food particles and plaque that brushing and flossing can’t reach.

Easy to apply, sealants take only a few minutes to seal each tooth. Sealants hold up well under the force of normal chewing and can last several years before a reapplication is needed.

Oral Surgery

Oral Surgery involves any surgical procedure performed to the facial area mainly as it pertains to the oral cavity and its surrounding structures. At Dr. Mohr’s office,  we provide basic surgical procedures.  We do our best to keep you comfortable and at ease before, during and after any oral surgery procedure. We want your experience to be as stress-free as possible as well as having a quick and comfortable recovery so that you can return to your every day activities without skipping a beat.

Bone Grafting

Over a period of time, the jawbone associated with missing teeth atrophies is reabsorbed. This often leaves a condition in which there is poor quality and quantity of bone suitable for placement of dental implants. In these situations, most patients are not candidates for placement of dental implants.

With bone grafting, we now have the opportunity to not only replace bone where it is missing, but also the ability to promote new bone growth in that location! This not only gives us the opportunity to place implants of proper length and width, it also gives us a chance to restore functionality and esthetic appearance.
